Bimo and the Sun Islands: free arcade platformer

Bimo and the Sun Islands is an arcade platformer you can play in your browser, on your phone or on your computer, with nothing to download. Bimo, a little tree frog with a red scarf, hops through 24 levels across 6 islands: meadows, beaches, caves, giant mushroom forests, the sky, a sunken ship, a beehive, a volcano, a coral reef, a jungle, a ruined temple, a frozen lake you skate on, stormy peaks, blazing dunes, a lava river and Grumo's palace.

How to play

  • Run and jump: the faster you run, the farther and higher you jump. Stomp on enemies to defeat them and chain stomps together for extra points.
  • Hit the sun totems from below: they drop coins, the sun fruit (Bimo grows), the chili (spit fire), the leaf (glide) and the Radiant Sun (invincible for a while).
  • Bimo's tongue gobbles up slugs and bumblebees and grabs hermit crab shells, which you can then spit at enemies.
  • Coconut cannons launch you skyward, and some hollow logs and pots hide secret rooms: stand on top and press down.
  • Every level has five pearls, a lantern that saves your progress and a gong at the end: the more time you have left, the more points you get.
  • A boss awaits at the end of each island: Captain Pincers, Queen Buzz, King Grumo, the Inky Octopus and the Glacier Walrus; King Grumo returns in his palace for the final battle.

Tips

  • Sea urchins and jellyfish can't be stomped: dodge them or use fire.
  • Every 75 coins earns you an extra life, and long gaps are easier to clear with a running start.
  • On ice Bimo skates, so brake early. Cracked slabs fall if you stay on them, and lava bubbles jump every so often: wait for them to drop.
