Sea Battle: free online battleship game

Sea Battle is a free battleship game (like the classic Battleship board game) that you can play in your browser, on your phone or on your computer, with nothing to download. Place your fleet in secret, fire at the enemy waters one square at a time and sink all their ships before they sink yours. Miss, hit and sunk!

How to play

• Place your fleet on your 10×10 grid: drag each ship to move it and tap it to rotate it, or press “Random”.
• Fire by tapping a square in the enemy waters (on a phone, the first tap aims and the second fires; with a mouse, one click).
• Nothing there is a miss; striking a ship is a hit; hit every square of a ship and it’s sunk and goes down.
• The first to sink the whole enemy fleet wins.

The fleet

Five toy ships: carrier (5 squares), battleship (4), cruiser (3), submarine (3) and destroyer (2).

Modes and rules

• Against the computer on three levels: easy (fires almost at random), medium (hunts and finishes off) and hard (works out where your ships are most likely to be).
• Two players on the same device: between turns a “pass the device” screen keeps each fleet hidden.
• House rules: ships can’t touch (not even diagonally) and extra shot on a hit.

Radar and tips

Once per game you get a radar that tells you how many ship squares hide in a 3×3 area. Tip: fire in a checkerboard pattern until you find a ship, then finish it off along the line. Your stats and the game in progress are saved automatically.
