Snake Odyssey: the classic snake game, now with loops, shedding and bosses
Snake Odyssey is a free snake game you can play in your browser, on your phone or on your computer, with nothing to download. You guide Zig, a snake that keeps moving on its own: eat to grow and don’t crash into the walls or your own tail. That’s the snake you know; from there, it’s an adventure across four worlds.
How to play
- Turn by swiping anywhere on the screen, or with the arrow keys or WASD on a computer. There’s also an on-screen D-pad in the settings if you prefer.
- Eat apples to grow. Once you reach the level’s goal the burrow opens: slip into it head first.
- Every level hides three gems. Collect them all to complete each world 100%.
What’s new: loops and shedding
- Loop: wrap your body around something until you touch yourself and everything inside is yours: fruit, gems hidden in bushes, mice and even enemies. Bosses can only be beaten this way.
- Shed: press the shed button (or the space bar) to drop half your tail. The skin stays on the ground for a while: it holds down plates that open gates and blocks critters, and you can slither through it.
Four worlds, four bosses
- Shining Meadow: mice, hedgehogs and King Mole.
- Sand Temple: portals, plates, spikes and the Golden Scorpion.
- Glacier: ice you can’t turn on, penguins and the Glacier Walrus.
- Volcano: lava geysers, salamanders and the Magma Serpent.
Power fruits
- Chili pepper (turbo), ghost plum (pass through your body), ice berry (slow motion), magnet (pulls things in) and mushroom (you shrink). The golden apple is worth lots of points.
Endless mode
In Endless the arena changes every few fruits: mice, hedgehogs, falling rocks, geysers and a hawk show up. Chain fruit together to multiply your score and climb the weekly ranking.
