Word Hive (Panal): a free daily word game like Spelling Bee

Panal (Word Hive) is a free word game you can play in your browser, on your phone or on your computer, with nothing to download. Every day there’s a new hive with seven letters, and the center letter is required. How many words can you find? If you like Spelling Bee or word searches, you’ll love it.

How to play

• Make words of 4 letters or more by tapping the cells of the hive or typing on your keyboard.
• Every word must include the center letter. Letters can be used more than once.
• No proper nouns, abbreviations or offensive words. Plurals and common verb forms are fine.
• Shuffle moves the outer letters around to help you spot new words; Delete removes the last letter.

Points, ranks and pangrams

• A 4-letter word is worth 2 points; longer words score one point per letter.
• A pangram uses all seven letters and scores 10 extra points. Every hive has at least one.
• Climb the ranks as you score: from Beginner to Genius, and if you find them all, Queen bee.

Daily puzzle, bonus puzzles and hints

• The daily puzzle is the same for everyone that day. Play every day to keep your streak going.
• Bonus puzzles are unlimited: finish one and move on to the next.
• The next day you can check yesterday’s answers, with the words you found highlighted.
• Stuck? The hints grid shows how many words are left by first letter and length, and a hint reveals the start of a word.

Panal can be played in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan: each language has its own dictionary and its own daily hive.
