Klondike Solitaire: play free solitaire online

Solitaire is the classic Klondike solitaire card game (the one from Windows) that you can play for free in your browser, on your phone or on your computer, with nothing to download. Big, easy-to-read cards, automatic saving and a new daily challenge every day.

Goal

Move all 52 cards to the four foundations (top right), one per suit, in order from ace to king.

How to play

  • In the seven tableau columns, build down in alternating colours (a red 6 on a black 7). You can move a single card or a whole run.
  • When a face-down card is uncovered, it turns over by itself. Only a king (or a run starting with a king) can go into an empty column.
  • Tap the stock to draw. When it runs out, tap it again to turn the waste back over: unlimited passes.
  • Tap a card and it moves to the best spot by itself (foundation first). You can also drag it.

Modes and help

  • Easy (draw 1) or Classic (draw 3). With “Winnable deals only”, every deal has a computer-verified solution: perfect for getting started.
  • Daily challenge: the same winnable deal for everyone each day. Beat it on consecutive days to keep your streak.
  • Free, unlimited undo, hints that highlight a useful move and auto-finish once it’s solved. If you run out of moves, the game tells you.

Classic scoring

  • Waste to tableau: 5 · to a foundation: 10 · turning a card over: 5 · foundation back to tableau: −15.
  • Recycling the stock: −100 in draw 1; −20 in draw 3 (from the fourth pass). Every 10 seconds: −2. When you win, a time bonus: the faster, the more points.

Tips

  • Uncover the columns with the most face-down cards first.
  • Don’t empty a column unless you have a king to fill it.
  • Don’t rush cards to the foundations: sometimes you need them in the tableau.
